About Me
My name is Ron van de Crommert. I'm a highly experienced technical communication and language professional in Seattle, WA, with a proven track record in documentation, technical writing, editing, translation, and localization.
The intersection of language and technology has always fascinated me. Even the best technology can't succeed without effective communication. Both these areas have shaped my professional life. From translating texts to writing documentation to managing technical writing teams at a large software company, I understand what it takes to provide clear, accurate information so customers all over the world can use complex products to their fullest potential. In today's world, this goes well beyond traditional documentation. Users now expect a wide array of resources including tutorials, samples, videos, and more.
I have extensive experience creating and managing all types of content that users want to see in modern applications, both cloud-based and on-premise, and for all audiences. I also have a strong affinity with technology and am familiar with a variety of tools and technologies, including HTML, CSS, XML, Markdown, Python, Bootstrap, Confluence, Camtasia, and others.
Working remotely since 2010, I'm very comfortable collaborating with both on-site and virtual teams around the world. And as a dual Dutch/U.S. citizen, I bring a decidedly international orientation, with multilingual skills and a deep understanding of localization.
